1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Eduva collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the Eduva App and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following categories of information depending on what you use inside the app:

A) Information you provide

  • Account details: name, email/phone, password (encrypted), user role (student/guardian/tutor/admin), profile photo (optional)
  • Profile & learning info: grade/class, subjects, learning goals, language preference, schedule availability
  • Communication content: messages, support requests, feedback, attachments you share (if messaging/upload features exist)
  • Verification & compliance: identity/qualification info for tutors (e.g., education, certificates) if required for onboarding
  • Payments (if paid services exist): transaction records, invoice details (note: payment card/mobile wallet details are typically handled by the payment provider, not stored by us directly)

B) Information collected automatically

  • Device & technical data: device model, OS version, app version, unique device identifiers (where permitted), IP address
  • Usage data: pages/screens viewed, clicks, session duration, crash logs, diagnostics, performance metrics
  • Approximate location (optional): derived from IP (for security/fraud prevention or service availability)

C) Information from third parties (when applicable)

  • If you sign in using a third-party method or integrate services (e.g., Google sign-in), we may receive basic profile info as permitted by your settings.
  • If you enroll via an institute/partner, we may receive enrollment details from that partner.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Create and manage your account and provide the Service
  • Match learners with tutors/mentors and enable class/session management
  • Provide learning features (progress tracking, reports, recommendations)
  • Communicate with you (service updates, confirmations, reminders, support)
  • Process payments and prevent fraud (if applicable)
  • Improve app performance, fix bugs, and develop new features
  • Enforce our terms, protect users, and comply with legal obligations

4. Legal Basis (Where Applicable)

Depending on your location, we process data based on:

  • Contract necessity (to deliver the Service you requested)
  • Consent (e.g., marketing messages, optional data fields)
  • Legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, analytics)
  • Legal obligations (compliance, dispute handling)

5. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only as needed:

  • With tutors/mentors/instructors (e.g., your name, learning needs, schedule) to deliver sessions/courses
  • With institutes/organizations (if your account is under an organization) for administration and reporting
  • With service providers who help operate the app (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email/SMS, customer support). They are required to protect your data and use it only for providing services to Eduva.
  • With payment processors to complete transactions (if applicable)
  • For legal and safety reasons (to comply with law, enforce terms, respond to lawful requests, protect rights and safety)

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary:

  • While your account is active, and
  • As needed to provide services, comply with legal requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.

When data is no longer required, we delete or anonymize it, unless we must keep it for legal reasons.

7. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect data (e.g., access controls, encryption in transit where applicable). However, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

  • Eduva is generally intended for users who can use educational services with appropriate supervision.
  • If a child uses Eduva, we recommend the account be created/managed by a parent/guardian or an authorized institute.
  • If you believe we collected personal data from a child without proper consent, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
  • (If your app is specifically targeted to children under 13, you should update this section to reflect your consent and compliance process.)

9. Your Choices & Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • Access, correct, or update your profile information
  • Request deletion of your account and personal data (subject to legal retention)
  • Withdraw consent (where processing is based on consent)
  • Opt out of marketing communications (if any)

10. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your Eduva App account in either of the following ways:

A) Delete Account from Inside the App

  • Open the Eduva App
  • Go to My Account → Delete Profile
  • Type Delete to confirm
  • Tap Confirm Delete and confirm again

Once confirmed, your account is deleted immediately. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. You will lose access to your profile, enrolled courses, learning progress, and associated data.

B) Delete Account via Email (If App Is Not Accessible)

  • Subject: Account Deletion Request
  • Required: Please include the registered email address or phone number associated with your Eduva account.

For security purposes, we may request identity verification (such as OTP or confirmation details) before processing the request. Email-based deletion requests are processed within 7–30 business days after successful verification.

C) Data That Will Be Deleted

  • Personal profile information (name, email address, phone number, profile photo if any)
  • Learning data, enrollments, progress reports, and related academic records
  • Messages, support tickets, and communication history (where applicable)
  • Uploaded files, documents, and attachments (where applicable)

D) Data That May Be Retained

  • Payment invoices, billing records, and transaction logs retained for accounting and legal compliance
  • Fraud prevention, security, and audit logs retained for a limited period to protect the platform

11. International Data Transfers

If we store/process data outside your country, we take steps to ensure appropriate safeguards are in place (e.g., contractual protections with vendors).

12. Third-Party Links & Services

The app may contain links to third-party websites/services. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not ours.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the “Effective date” and, if changes are significant, we may notify you in-app or by other means.
